About the job :

We are looking to hire a French speaking person for our sales team.  Our company BSD  www.bsd.be is the leader in packaging solutions for chocolatiers, patissiers and confectionery stores and is located in Saintes (nearby Halle).  We employ 40 people, have a turnover of 15M€ and are in a strong development phase.

If you are looking for a challenging career in a dynamic team, the France sales representative position might be of interest to you. This position plays an integral part in growing our sales to French customers (choclatiers, confectionery stores and  patissiers).

This position plays an integral part in growing our sales to the retail French market. The France sales representative will take appointments with the targeted clients (retailers) and go on the road (4 days a week – 3weeks/month) in order to present the products and take orders. He/she will also try to develop a long term relationship with the clients.

He/she will ensure a daily reporting to the management.

Before going on the road, the selected candidate will spend 3 months in the company working as an internal sales as part of his/her education.

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Present and sell the whole BSD product range to current and potential clients on the territory.
  2. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  3. Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
  4. Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  5. Identify and resolve client concerns.
  6. Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.

  ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participate in promotional events such as trade shows and open door days
  2. Follow-up for collection of payment.
  3. Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise.

  KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Ability to listen is essential!  Ability to persuade and influence others as well as to develop and deliver presentations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
  4. Work requires travelling 4 days/week – 3 weeks/month to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license.
  5. Work requires willingness to work with a flexible schedule
  6. An  experience in selling ribbons, gift wrapping paper, decorations, printing material, boxes, etc. is a solid advantage as well as an experience in selling other products to chocolatiers, confectionery stores or patissiers

 WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires significant overnight travel to France  and may require weekend and/or evening work.
